The Make Money Blogging Myth
When I learned that I could be an online publisher, sell and refer advertising, do affiliate marketing I became very excited even though I really didn't have a clue how to make a blog or website at the time.
I just knew I was going to be able to put up a site and make a huge amount of money by posting on my website or blog and having hundreds of people visit my site and click links and buy stuff.
Even though this is possible here is the myth part. Create a web site or blog in a specific niche, post a large amount of great posts on your site or blog, add Adsense and Clickbank products too your site, go out to other sites and forums, leave comments and socialize and bring all this great traffic back to your site.
We'll, there are only two problems with this type of thinking. The people visiting your site are looking for great information to consume, or they are looking to leave a back-link to their site in hopes to bring traffic in the same manner you were hoping also.
Here is the deal, if you are going to make money blogging than your traffic needs to come from a link or source somewhere that recommended you for what they were searching for. So in a nutshell you need to optimize your blog or website pages for the specific things that you would promote as an affiliate or sell yourself.
Here is the make money online formula: (All Markets) Targeted Traffic = Visits = Conversions
1. If you do not have targeted traffic, you will not have visitors that convert, it is that simple.
2. Having good relevant content for sure helps, I was told at one time that content was king and from all that I have experienced that seems to hold true. But, that is only one small step toward what you need to do. Off site optimization is also really important for getting your site traffic.
3. Off site optimization is anchored text back-links pointing to your home page or a post or other pages on your website or blog. This anchored text hyperlink should contain the keyword for what you are optimizing your site or page for. For example Make Money Online, this link leads to another page on my blog and I have targeted one of the terms that I want to rank for.
You can also do this from an article resource box or from a post on another blog or site. Be sure and link the keyword or keywords that you want to rank for in the back-link text. This is very important and I would also suggest that it links from a relevant article about the topic that you are wanting to rank for, Wa-La You have a good 1 way link back to your blog.
4. Have a purpose. This Make Money For Beginners blog has a purpose, hint: (to have fun and maybe to make money, it is a very competitive niche ) and it will take me a substantial amount of time to accomplish this. When this blog starts popping up in the search results and getting visitors, then I will monetize it and start making some coin in this make money online niche.
At the same time I hope that I can get the point across to my readers (if I ever get any) about what it takes to accomplish this in any niche. There are millions of different topics out there that anyone can optimize and m0netize. All you have to do is Do It! You can contact me anytime if you need some help at the top of my page and I will get back with you as soon as possible.
Nothing is a substitute for just starting and getting it done. Or just sit there and keep reading, month after month, year after year. That is what I did for the first year, now I am typing for the second year and I am going to get some results. If you think it is all plug and play, your wrong!
Getting the content out is hard at first, I felt stupid when I started to write posts. I would sit down for several hours writing, then I would get frustrated then I would delete it. But do not give up hope, you just have to do it.
So one more point how you can make money blogging. Plan each post and do not get crazy with the times that you use your keywords in your post. To much is bad, not enough is bad. I would say 3 times per 800 words and that is just my opinion.
I would say to always start targeting long tail keywords in your posts. Here is an example of related keywords for this niche from Googles search tool
As you can see this gives you an idea of several different long tail keywords that you could add to you blogs posts and get one step closer to learning how to make money online for beginners.
Hopefully you are getting the point and realize that you can learn how to make money online!
Cheers!

Comments on The Make Money Blogging Myth
I didn't start my blog to make money online – I am fairly convinced its the hardest niche of all to make money with! I started it as a cross between an online diary and a site to use when I was applying for affiliate programs! I originally called it a "journey of 100 sites" – guess how much search traffic that gets! It sort of evolved – and now it pays for itself – though I could never run Adsense on it cause its all too over the place – it does all right with the affiliates though.
