Hansen Beverage Company/Monster Energy Drink-Bully Or Victim?

Did Rock Art Brewery Pull Strings and conspire this media blitz?

It's a bright sunny day for Rock Art Brewery in Morrisville, VT. After supposed shenanigans were pulled on them by Monster Energy Drinks a subsidiary of Hansen Beverage Company. On Sept 14th 2009 Rock Art Brewery had been served a cease and desist order from the attorneys at Hansen Beverage Company.

The Attorneys told Matt Nadeau (owner) of Rock Art Brewery that he needs to stop all campaigns, advertising, labeling, production of his product "The Vermonster". They say that the name Monster Energy is trademarked thus they have to pursue and eliminate any possible trademark violation whether soluble or not like Vermonster even if you are from Vermont and brew beer instead of making fruit drinks.

Leaning on his legal advice Matt's advisor told him that he did not violate any of the trademark rules he then went on to state that Hansen Beverage Company would just sue him into bankruptcy.

This is where Multi-Billion Dollar Corporations might not play nice. They get what they want due to the money they have to destroy a small resistance. Whoever runs out of money first will ultimately lose.

Matt with the help of Green River Pictures created a video that he uploaded to youtube which can be seen here at…Monster Energy Drink. After that a stowe reporter picked up his sad story and the news spread fast. Matt created a pdf showing the time frame of how things transpired in just 21 days using the main stream media and social media on the internet.

Looking at the aftermath of results and reading between the lines a little bit I began to wonder if this has been planned from the beginning. After reading through everything it is completely possible that this might have been preplanned.

There is something that stands out to me and below is a photo with those words circled in red that made me wonder.

How does a small business get free national advertising?

Then I took a look at Green River Pictures and this company creates some first class advertising media. So in my mind I put 2 and 2 together and I came up with this conclusion. If you want to be a big player in the business world you have to do big things that bring success to you. Just sitting there brewing a good product is not enough. I could go further in explanation but you might start understanding the point I am trying to make.

Now for the aftermath…….. Hansen Beverage Company, Monster Energy Drink will obviously suffer sales do to this media blitz and I am sure they will recover. Be sure and go to their site Hansen Beverage Company and see their last quarter sales. They list these for possible investors. Then keep an eye out for the next quarter results as you will see a change more than likely.

I still say bravo for Rock Art Brewery getting the attention thousands of other small businesses never will have the opportunity to have. And even though I have heard many times now that Monster Energy Drinks taste like camel piss I still have never tasted them or camel piss so I really have no idea.

Maybe someday I will try one of those energy drinks but for now I never have any intention of trying camel piss.
