Are You Ready For What It Takes To Make Money Online Or Are You A Lazy Cat?

Over the last decade the internet has grown exponentially and the potential to earn an awesome income online is just beginning for the few that take the time to learn how it works and leverage this huge opportunity that just plopped itself on your doorstep via an internet connection.

How do you make money online? 

Up First…….Let's get this out of the way.

If you have been online for more than a year and you have purchased any programs that teach you how to make money online and you are not making any money online then please quit buying stuff !

(you need to change the part where you actually do something to make money online)

Those meeting these obvious statements above might have a motivation problem and it may have been holding you back from getting things done but no matter how gloomy things appear to be you really can change. Having motivation problems might not be from being lazy but actually from not being interested in what needs to be done.

The first part of becoming motivated is having a need or a desire to become motivated. I have a hard time getting motivated especially after a long day at work. I do know that if I do some of the things that I need to do now that later I will benefit from those results. It is easy for me to put things off if I am not under pressure and that is one of my biggest downfalls.

So I have to look and see what kind of person I want to be seen as. This gives me that extra push that I need to get a few things done that I would otherwise not do. I am not a lazy person, in fact I am a hard worker. I want to be known as a hard worker and so this is where some of my motivation has come from.

I also like to learn new things. In fact I have a whole list of things that I would like to learn but I only have so much life left and I will have to let a few dreams die….unfortunately! Making a bet or working with someone is also a motivational boost. It is always fun to work with others especially if they pull their part of the load.

Everybody wants to be part of a group it is simply human nature and being accepted by others can give you some serious motivation. Find out what motivates you and use it to your benefit!

I know for a fact that you can know exactly how to make money and never make any.

So..if you are new to this online stuff and before you decide that you want to learn, or that you don't I will show you some things that you should learn and understand to be able to start learning how to make money online.

Making Money Online is a business and it takes time to build businesses and get results. Even worse yet is that not all businesses are successful. Many have been started and never get off the ground.

So how do you make money online?……….You first need to understand the basics of the internet and how it works.

What is the internet?

The internet consists of millions of Websites and Blogs with information about most any thing you could ever think of. If you want to know something or you want to learn something then all you have to do is go to a search engine and type in what you are looking for.

Then the search engine gives you a list of results called the SERPS (search engine results pages) and you hopefully find what you are looking for. In the example below you can see what the serp looks like on Google when we search the keyword term: "make money online".

If you look at this page you will see the top ads in yellow. They are sponsored ads. Also the ads to the right of the search results these are sponsored ads also. If you also look above the sponsored ads you will see that the organic results (the ones below the yellow sponsored ads) are 1 through 10 of 222 million pages.

So what are sponsored ads?

These are ads that advertisers pay Google to display on the front page of the search results. More specifically these advertisers have bid on this specific keyword…"make money online" so their ad would show. They will pay Google a previously decided amount every time someone clicks on their ad. (of course there are contributing factors that will adjust this price higher or lower and I will discuss those later).

In these example pictures if you click on them you can enlarge them. What I want to show you are those sponsored ads why they are there and willing to pay Google for search traffic.

In this example the Average Joe wants to "make money online" and that is why these advertisers are willing to pay (so much) for each click to get a person that is specifically looking to learn how to "make money online". Make money online is actually a broad search term but advertisers are still willing to pay.

The very top sponsored ad if you have looked at the photo is PPL123.com this ad reads:

Earn $5,779+ a Month,Own hours. FT/PT. Leads. Residuals. We Build Your Business With You.

So I copy the link so I don't charge them a click and go to their site. And it is a bummer the site no longer exists. So I will check out the next one…..OpinionPlace.com. This appears to be an online survey company that will pay you to take online surveys. Your looking for a way to make money online and Google is delivering the information you are looking for.

The next ad is: BigTicketToWealth.com and we could go on but I won't.

What are organic results?

These are the listings of websites that the search engine feels are the most relevant for the search term that was searched for….remember…"make money online". These web sites are listed for free. In other words when a search visitor goes to these sites they dont have to pay Google to get the visitor to the page that is listed on the serp.

I hope you are getting the point of all this how to make money stuff….you have to sell or refer something to someone to make money.

Yup, you heard that right, "You Have To Sell Something" BUT…………………… you don't have to be a sales person, speak with anyone, ship any products, unless that is what you want to do.

Now let's look at the top organic result….. moneymakerinfo.blogspot.com

How is this site making money?

The internet is a huge vein of gold that has not even begun to be tapped yet. What I and many others do to make money online is called (Internet Marketing) or (IM) for short. We create websites and/or advertisements that lead people to products, services or information that they are searching for. Then when they buy the item or perform a function even like (clicking an ad) I get paid a commission. (very easy)

This site makes money through selling advertising space to advertisers and through affiliate marketing by sending search visitors to programs like "BigTicketToWealth.com" that we looked at earlier. This site owner has become an affiliate for all these different products and receives a commission every time someone signs up.

Now remember that this is the MMO (make money online niche) and there are millions of other niches in which to sell other peoples products or refer other peoples services. Like how about Pet Grooming, Potted Flowers, Learn to Play Guitar, Learn to Speak Spanish. There are literally millions of different niches to make money with and why use the MMO niche just to sell junk like how to make money online stuff.

You will need to learn a few things:

How to put up a website! If this seems impossible to you right now but you are convinced that this is what you want to do you will learn it very quickly. It is easy just requires desire to learn. The learning is fun.

You can build free blogs and you can buy your domain names like I have here at dirkpoulsen.com and pay for hosting at a web host. My Url (dirkpoulsen.com) cost me $7.59 per year. Hosting is a different topic. There are millions of hosts, I will add more about them later.

How to write content for that website: Writing is not one of my favorite things to do but I have loosened up quite considerably and can put out allot of content even with the limited time I have to produce it. ( I stay focused on my MMO goal)

How to promote your sites…. and maybe I am getting ahead of myself. If we go back to the sponsored ads and organic results on search these are the 2 ways to promote your sites. Paid and Free, but not really free because it is allot of work to get to the first page of search results if you are in a competitive niche but well worth it in the long run, just ask moneymakerinfo.blogspot.com and also this is a free blogger blog that is ranking #1 and I will discuss Blogger.com here shortly.
