When I first started out in business in 1990 I used an accounting software called Dac-Easy. I had a book keeper, and I used a company called Paychex to attend to my payroll. After I figured out that my” Steven Henager graduate” bookkeeper didn’t know much about book keeping I took over the task myself and have been doing it ever since. In 1997 I graduated from using Paychex and started using the payroll service from Intuit’s Quick books and never looked back until 2010.

When I would pay the yearly payroll subscription with Intuit they would include the updated software for the year. They quit doing that after 2009 and they only offer support for their products for 36 months. I was a bit unhappy about upgrading but because of the simplicity to be able to do payroll, create federal and state forms with Quickbooks I was forced to upgrade to Quickbooks Pro 2012 with their enhanced payroll service.

If you have a solution better than Quickbooks for my Payroll and accounting be sure and let me know. I hate to spend $700.00 for the upgrade but they got me by the balls on this one.

Regardless of the relationship your in, friend, foe or just the significant other, it is vitally important to start off from the beginning with excellent communication. Telling you from experience I have found that lack of or just plain old poor communication skills have led to some serious problems.

It all boils down to Money, Time and Happiness. You have got to communicate when you make goals, set the steps to achieve them, then get to work accomplishing those things, and one last thing, you have got to focus on this communication thing.

Do you know where you want to be?

If you haven’t given this much thought you need to, You should be thinking of savings, relationships, housing, transportation, schooling, what you really want. You need to absorb your goals! (communicate to yourself) The time goes by really fast and 20 years becomes the blink of an eye. Don’t believe it today? You might soon enough.

Start saving today!

Money isn’t everything but it sure helps pay for stuff. When your talking finances, you will not realize how easy money can slip through your fingers. You may be thinking you are just fine but it won’t last forever, (change is inevitable). You need to communicate to your (associates) and to yourself exactly what you expect and what they can also expect. If your working alone, with someone, you still need to know your goals to be able to reach them. You need to save some money. I save something every week no matter how small and insignificant. You have to set habits in motion now that will come back and reward you later. Just think about it.

When you help others be careful.

There is nothing wrong with helping others.

Be sure that when you do help others you realize that is exactly what your doing, helping others.

In every deal you ever do if you take the time to think over what you really want and listen to what others want and develop a game plan to achieve the goals that you set out to accomplish you will be a much happier individual in the long run. Think before you respond no matter what the rewards seem to be. If you take my advice you will find that you will become very successful in your relationships and business dealings and you will stack some serious cashola away.

And don’t forget that the real magic bullet is COMMUNICATION.
