Regardless of the relationship your in, friend, foe or just the significant other, it is vitally important to start off from the beginning with excellent communication skills. Telling you from experience I have found that lack of or just plain old poor communication has led to some serious problems.
It all boils down to Money, Time and Happiness. You have got to make goals and you have got to communicate.

If you haven’t given this much thought you need to, You should be thinking of savings, relationship, housing, transportation, schooling and many other things. The time goes by really fast and 20 years becomes the blink of an eye. Don’t believe it today? You might soon enough.

When your talking finances, you will not realize how easy money can slip through your fingers. You may be raking in big bucks but I can tell you that it won’t last forever. (change is inevitable) You need to communicate to your spouse and or business partner exactly what you expect and what they can also expect, if your working by yourself or with someone you still need to set goals to be able to reach them. You need to save some money. I don’t care if it is only 5 dollars a week or even 5 dollars a month. You have to set habits in motion now that will come back and reward you later. Just think about it.
If you were considering helping others.
Beware, not all can be helped, but some may appreciate it a little. In most cases the more you give people the more they will take (especially relatives). If you haven’t experienced this then you should get a good dose of it. It is amazing how someone will drain you if you let them. You have to give everything you do helping others very serious thought. I once thought that I could make it up, now I realize that I can’t ever make it up.
The hardest part for me was giving all I had and I really thought I would get loyalty. Loyalty from individuals is hard if not impossible to achieve. I have never reached the point of loyalty from anyone but I feel I have given way more than needed to achieve it. Point in case, You will never get complete loyalty from anyone so get over it now. 
In every deal you ever do if you take the time to think over what you really want and listen to what others want and develop a game plan to achieve the goals that you set out to accomplish you will be a much happier individual in the long run. Think before you respond no matter what the rewards seem to be. If you take my advice you will find that you will become very successful in your relationships and business dealings and you will stack some serious cashola away.
And don’t forget that it takes COMMUNICATION to connect things.
